Elimination:

 

 The contestant shall perform from memory any three (3) pieces from the given list below.

 

Fernando Sor: 

  1.  Op. 6 nos. 3, 6
  2.  Op. 29 nos. 13, 17, 22, 23 Simrock edition (the same etudes appear in other editions of Op. 29 as nos. 1, 5, 10, 11, respectively)
  3.  3. Op. 31 nos.19, 20

 

Mauro Giuliani:

                           Op. 48, no. 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24

 

Luigi Legnani:

Semi-finals:

 

 The contestant shall perform from memory a) one (1) piece from the Renaissance originally written for the Renaissance lute or vihuela, b) two (2) movements/dances, one fast and one slow from the same Baroque Lute suite or Baroque Guitar suite, c) one (1) piece from the Classical period in sonata allegro form, originally composed for the guitar. The contestant may select from the list of composers provided, or any other composer from the same period and/or style.

 

Renaissance: one (1) piece for  lute or vihuela

*The contestant may select a single-movement sonata (as in the case of Sonata op. 15b by Fernando Sor) or the 1st movement of a sonata (as in the case of Giuliani’s Sonata op. 15). 

 

Finals:

 

The contestant shall perform from memory a) one (1) song by Angel Pena from the given list, b) one (1) piece in Virtuoso 19th century or Romantic style, originally composed for the guitar, c) one (1) major work from the 20th or 21st century (Modern), originally composed for the guitar. In the case of multi-movement compositions in the modern style, the contestant may select one (1) to three (3) movements from the same composition.
